Best quote ever.
I don’t care what this is from but people need to relax and learn to be themselves. I’m not saying it is easy. I just want to encourage it.

OBVIOUSLY this advertising is spot on because everyone who considers themselves “undiscovered talent” worthy of playing in the NBA allstar game are looking up definitions and synonyms of the word “dolorous”.

Yeah yeah yeah the cat is cute BUT IS THAT TAPE TO SHOW NOTE NAMES ON A NORD?!?! What is happening?
Falkenrath Aristocrat
Using a random number generator I randomly chose one of the 170 ish cards in Dark Ascension to write about briefly and conveniently enough my first try was another multicolored mythic rare!
This card fits the criteria (from an old article by Matt Cavotta) of a “Home Run”, or, “cards that have great names, flavor text, and art- and all three compliment the card mechanic.” (Here is the original article: http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Magazine/Article.aspx?x=mtgcom/daily/mc8)
So lets examine why this card exemplifies the elusive home run
1.) Name - Falkenrath Aristocrat
The name is dripping with flavor (and blood?) as it shows both a sense of hierarchy within the society of vampires in Innistrad and also demonstrates what a vampire in between the status of Olivia Voldaren and a reckless waif might be like.
2.) Flavor Text - “Your blood is quite pleasing. A pity there’s not enough for both of us.”
This sentence falls right out of the pictured character’s mouth as she uses it to munch on some lowly human flesh. Demonstrates superiority and vampire-ness.
3.) Art
The art for this card is spectacular, one of the best of the block so far. It even participates in actively building the atmosphere through the use of gothic architecture and very specific hair and costuming. The vampiress’s expression is that of disdain for all beneath her and you can sense the dread present in the air around her as her flowing, blood-red dress billows behind her.
All of these work perfectly with the mechanic of sacrificing a lower being (silly humans) for personal gain and sometimes even growth.
I don’t play very much red but you can bet if I did I would be using this deadly beauty.
get off of there cat. don’t be jealous of my sick beats. you’re just mad cause you can’t get in the club with your fake id.
I am re watching the star wars movies in anticipation of The Old Republic coming out next week and naturally I started at the beginning with a movie that is loathed by nearly all.
Most of it is deserved.
That being said, it has some quality hidden in it. The plot that unfolds through the Senate’s actions guided by palpatine really are interesting (even if executed poorly) and the ending featuring a four-tiered battle for the safety of Naboo is really pretty cool.
It is a shame that Jar Jar Binks, absolutely horrible dialogue, and a complete neglect for character development ruined this film.
People just say what they are thinking, over and over.
Nate once told me: “try to describe some of the characters of The Phantom Menace without listing their physical traits”
It is tough.
I recommend that haters re-watch if they haven’t seen it since they were ten years old to perhaps re-evaluate their hatred but other than that it really doesnt hold up.
My room mate said I looked like a sith lord. The dark circles under my eyes really complete the illusion… :/
